MEET THE TEAM

Sarah

With a long career in the beauty industry (and as a self-confessed beauty junkie), she's tried just about every product there is to try. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring you receive the best experience every time you send us a question or shop with us, we’re very lucky to have her as part of our family.

What do you love most about being part of the Nature’s Journey team?

I consider myself very lucky to be working with such interesting and knowledgeable colleagues, there are no egos, which means that collaboration, direction and support is readily offered and encouraged which I love. When you work with people who share your ambition and values, together with high-quality products and a commitment to a first class customer experience, it makes for a team that I’m proud to be part of. It’s honestly a dream job for me!

What are some of your favourites in the range, and why?

I love our whole range - but there are two in particular that are my true dessert island products. First, Radiance Facial Oil - I’ve found the addition of this to my night-time routine has really helped to improve the condition of my skin. It’s a real powerhouse, packed full of ingredients and my skin just LOVES it. It’s so light and non-greasy and feels amazing to apply. If I have a little more time, I like to use it with a gua sha. It works brilliantly. And don’t even get me started on the aroma! - it’s so dreamy... I find it really helps me to prepare for sleep, too. When it comes to our aromatherapy range, I love, love, love our Revive blend. I use it in my office everyday. It’s great for lifting my energy levels, and helps lift the ‘brain fog’ (an unfortunate side effect of the menopause).

What does ‘wellbeing’ mean to you?

For me, it’s more than what you eat, drink or how much you exercise. My mental and emotional wellbeing are just as important - it’s about being kind to yourself and investing time and energy into things that bring you joy. Like most of us, the pandemic lockdowns, and working from home made me realise that I needed a better work life balance, and part of this was allowing myself some guilt-free ‘me time’, and as indulgent as that sounds, it was an important first step. Working for a brand that champions wellness and encourages positive working behaviours has given me the opportunity to maintain this, which is great.

What is your motto in life?

“Better today than yesterday”. Now, I know this sounds a bit cliché, but as someone who is quite self-aware, I do find myself looking back and reflecting on how my day, task or conversation has gone, (and especially if it was challenging), I  consider how I might do it differently, or better next time.

Describe a day in the life of your job

Much like Anna said in her recent blog, no two days are the same - as a small team, we find ourselves wearing a LOT of different hats. I love the variety that this brings, and have learned quite a few new skills over the last few months. My day can range from responding to a customer query, completing a stock count, packing off a wholesale order, collaborating with external partners and working on new projects. As someone who has spent many years behind a desk, one milestone achievement over the last few months has been learning how to use a pump truck to move pallets - oh, the glamour!

Describe your perfect self-care day

A self-care day for me means a day with no clock-watching, no plans or household jobs to do and getting outside for a walk. The fresh air (and if luck is on my side), the sunshine never fails to help energise and lift my mood. One ritual that I love is making a pot of fresh, loose leaf tea (my favourite is Lapsang Souchong - or ‘Bonfire’ tea as my husband calls it) - there’s nothing better than a good cup of tea and a book to help me rest and recharge. Also, being a product junkie, I do love an at home spa treat, too - and with the warmer weather upon us, getting my toes ready for sandal season is a self-care must!
