Staycation Saviours: what I'm packing for my great British getaway

I can hardly believe that we’re already over halfway through the year – it surely won’t be long before the supermarkets are full of those oh-so-tempting boxes of chocolates that (literally) no-one saves for the ‘big day’. But, before that – we’ve got a summer of fun to enjoy, and like many of us, I’m looking forward to a few weeks of slowing down, switching off and restoring the balance.
Since the pandemic, I’ve become a big fan of a staycation – not least because I can take my four-legged friend with me, but I also realised that there’s so many gorgeous places right here in the UK that I’ve not yet explored. So I’m swapping lengthy airport security queues and all-inclusive chaos for something a little more genteel.
I don’t know about you, but I always find the first few days of a holiday really difficult. It’s like my body wants to chill out, but my mind is still going a million miles an hour – remembering things I meant to do before I switched on my out of office, or checking my inbox for any new emails that I can ‘quickly’ sort out. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned the hard way, it’s that taking proper time to disconnect from the world and reconnect with what really matters is essential in the long run.
Whether it’s whiling away the hours with your nose in a good book, spending quality time with the family doing whatever brings you joy, or a few stolen moments of solitude, Summer is the perfect moment to escape the everyday and recharge the batteries. I thought I’d share with you some of my must-have products to help soothe your skin and ease a busy mind, whatever your plans this summer
Restore Aromatherapy Blend 10ml
I’ve become a bit of a pro at finding a great place to stay on AirBnB, but one thing I really loathe is that, no matter how premium the place, they can often smell a little like someone just checked out an hour before you arrived. Whenever I’m away from home, I always sleep a little lighter than usual – whether it’s different noises, a lumpy mattress or pillows that are just a little too soft, something about being away from my creature comforts means that I often struggle to get my 8 hours of rest.
